also, if you made major changes to the template, try another design unmodified design and see if it makes a difference.  Re: 404 error message on all pages except home page
I noticed that the Search box is gone, did you turn off the 404 error handling as well?

This is the message I received from HG: "For most of the links on the left side of the page leading to the 404 pages is caused by the fact that there are no pages that are named that way in the public_html folder. You will need to upload those pages... Re: GOOGLE WARNING!
