OK believe me or not but I have received more than 20 first page searches in Google in less than 48 hours after the sites were setup.  I st up 5 site on sat afternoon.  then I did my SEO with directories and less than 7.00 of adwords to kick them off.  Jorge, that is some powerful results.  I hope you never sell another package, but I kind of think that with results like that you sell a million.  CJ results  this morning  was a total of 55.32 in commissions and 50.00 in sign ups!!!

is submitting to a search engine the same as submitting to a directory?

Not really; a directory lists websites entered into that directory while search engines may list your site even if you never added it to the search engine.

The very good thing about directories is that they tell search engines the category or niche of your website and they count as one way links to your website.
