I am getting some traffic on my sites but the amount I am getting paid for clicks on adsense is very small, is this a function of how Google rates your site and if so, how can I increase my ratings so that I get higher priced clicks.  Am I getting penalized because Google doesn't like this type of site as it is made up of duplicated material, what is other experiences and opinions of this?

Example:  In Dec I was getting about $.30-40 per click for one site, now it is down to $.10 for the same site, could this be a function of seasonality or a penalty, how can you know?  Another site is getting a fair amount of clicks but they only pay $.01-.03 per click, hardly worth the effort.

Google is indeed fickle, and rarely forthcoming as to it's hows and why. there are numerous discussions on many forums and no one can say with any certainty what is actually going on. If you are going to actively pursue Adsense, then it can be hit and miss. Like you said, sometimes it may not be worth the effort. Common beliefs says that if you get a lot of clicks, but they do not convert well, Google rewards/compensates accordingly.  From what I've read, only things constant with Google is change.   Huh?

KwameG nailed it exactly... I do not base my online income on google adsense for that same reason. When I started I was making a LOT and after 2 months they decreased my income to less than 25% of what I was making...

 Huh?
