I was just wondering about using Wikipedia content and so I went to their site and clicked on about and it lead to a document about free content and as I understand it Wikipedia is considering itselft PUBLIC DOMAIN content.  which means we should be able to use it to add content to our sites though I would probably reference it to give them credit and add credibility.  That is a ton of free content....Just think of the possibilities.  Unless anyone else knows something different.....

Barring any hidden clauses, it should be OK, in moderation, especially mixed in with some original content, As you said, as a quote or qualified reference.

Hi,

Even if it's ok to use the content from  wikki or any other source would the search engines see it as duplicate content and not index your site??
Just curious because I found alot of free stuff for my niche then I read some where else  search engines index it on your site.

I have used some content from wiki... laughing7

As far as not being indexed... I have heard it both ways... Huh?

I think cnquest's idea to add credit is a safe bet.

I have to separate my Chrises... It gets confusing laughing7

If it is not your only content I think it works well.  I use it as part of the teaser top half when I need a good definition.  Then add unique content on down.

Hi Jorge and members,
Everything about the 3.0 is All-Star performance.
comments/reviews/recent searches module is a grand slam.
My experince with the "Join Our Mailing List" has been interesting.
I have one site that started to get a response the day I moved 3.0 in.
Another I have not had one response. The email address I set up
was not an easy to guess. Some sign-ups appear are from spammers.
Should I change the email address? Can certain ones be removed?

Unfortunately, you cannot remove any emails from being added... HOWEVER...

I would seriously suggest you spend the money to get an auto responder service and add that form to your sites.

I am using GetResponse and I think the service is PHENOMENAL! icon_thumright
