eBay just made the following announcement:

Announcing the launch of the eBay Partner Network

We are excited to announce eBay’s new global affiliate platform: the eBay Partner Network.

The new platform will go live on April 1st, 2008 PST, at which point eBay will no longer be running its affiliate program through Commission Junction. Beginning April 1st, affiliates should register with eBay Partner Network and migrate their links from CJ to the new platform.

While CJ and ValueClick have been valuable partners to eBay throughout the years, we’ve decided to give our affiliate community a customized experience. eBay will continue its partnership with ValueClick’s technology division, Mediaplex, for ad serving, tracking and other custom projects.

All the great tools and benefits of working with the eBay program will remain the same – access to the Editor Kit and affiliate API, the flexible destination tool, the great payout structure. Please note that there will be no changes in the pricing structure as part of this transition. In addition, the eBay Partner Network will provide several new features:

    * Easy global registration to multiple countries simultaneously
    * New, targeted banners and rich media creatives
    * New landing page optimization and geo-targeting capabilities
    * More detailed reporting capabilities for eBay’s programs

The eBay Partner Network and Commission Junction will run in parallel for one month through this process, so please plan to complete your migration by May 1st, 2008.

You can receive an additional 5% bonus for all traffic tracked through eBay Partner Network in April 2008 for specific countries (bonus applicable to traffic sent to Half.com and US, UK, Australia, Canada, Italy, India and Spain eBay sites). The sooner you migrate, the more you’ll earn! Just:

    * Register with eBay Partner Network on April 1, 2008
    * Confirm your registration, and obtain your new identifiers
    * Update your links with your new identifiers
    * Reminder: Please plan to complete migration by May 1, 2008

Programs that will transition to the new eBay Partner Network platform starting Apr 1st:

    * eBay Australia
    * eBay Belgium
    * eBay Canada
    * eBay France
    * eBay Hong Kong
    * eBay India
    * eBay Italy
    * eBay Netherlands
    * eBay Singapore
    * eBay Spain
    * eBay United Kingdom
    * eBay United States
    * Half.com

Programs that will NOT be affected and will continue their relationship with Commission Junction:

    * eBay’s Tradera AB
    * ProStores
    * Reseller Marketplace
    * Media Marketplace
    * eBay Stores
    * StubHub

Please also note that eBay affiliates working with other platforms including Affilinet and TradeDoubler, as well as affiliates to other eBay Inc properties like Skype, Rent.com, PayPal, Kijiji and Shopping.com will not be affected.

More information, including detailed step-by-step instructions on how to migrate existing publishers’ links to the new platform, will be available on April 1st. Please check back with us then.

So will the update replace the CJ PID with the Ebay or will it add Ebay just asking because I was considering signing up for other affiliate programs through CJ and it would be nice to have both available.

Hi Chris,

Once eBay releases their new tools and/or data feeds we will know how everything will be setup.

We can however leave a place for the CJ PID for other CJ programs.

They have been extremely helpful and kind. It has been a pleasure to do business with them.
I do not look forward to have to engage in business with and count on eBay further.
You can never speak to anyone. It takes sometimes days to get an answers
and that is of course if you can squeeze everything into the tiny little box,
in which to write your question.  through a maze of drop down boxes.
I can't help but think CJ got the short end of this deal.
Are we next?

Mark, I will not leave CJ. Like you say they are great and I will always have something from them in my webpages and you can do the same

Quick update...

EZAWB has completed the update for the eBay Partner Network.

HOWEVER;

We will not release the update until we are absolutely sure that commissions are being reported. There are many people on the eBay affiliate forums reporting that they are not seeing any commissions, just clicks and impressions. So far I have not seen a single post from someone reporting that they have seen a commission.

Just like many other affiliates we have conducted tests and have ONLY seen clicks and impressions but no commissions.

Rest assured that we will release the update as soon as we see commissions being reported.

By the way.  The update is a cinch.  Jorge gave me a chance to test.  FTP up some files and change a couple configs and you are good to go.  I recommend being ready by signing up at ebay and setting up payment and getting your CAMPids  so you are ready to rock and roll.  The extra 5% this month will be great.

I recommend it since you need to upload on BINARY mode.

We may release 2 different updates:
1- ZIP file for ftp
2- EXE file like EZAWB install

Not sure what Jorge has in mind for the final update....He will have to answer that.  All I know is I was probably the only one crazy enough to say ok when he emailed me and asked to call at 2:00 in the morning.  That is how hard he is working on this.  OK 2 my time 1 his.  No advantage to me yet since nothing is showing up but a few hits,

I'm glad I did not release the update until sure... I want EVERYONE to capitalize on the extra 5%

HOWEVER...

I'd rather not make 5% extra than not make a single penny

just checked again 4 hits yesterday in that last hour and 3 today.

I have finally seen some commissions reported. I think that the whole thing is just a delay with the eBay Partner Network posting commissions.

I will release the EZAWB EPN update; however, I recommend you only update half of your domains because I still feel that there are some bugs with the eBay tracking and/or reporting system.
