I was checking out the software and am getting ready to purchase, however, a few simple questions:

noticed on one of the vids that if/when an image is uploaded it appears to be pulled from file on local machine?  Is that file setup upon creation of each individual site?  I guess I'm asking if there is copy placed on local machine as well as sent to host?

where are title and meta tags edited for individual pages?

You can pull images and upload them from your local machine or you can use a url.

The title and meta tags are not edited per individual pages; you can have the keywords inserted in the meta tags and title when the new pages are generated. You do that in the main design template and then each meta tag and title will be different.

The software is already setup to do that but you can customize it.

What happens in the event a problem with host and site data is lost/damaged? 

If I understand regarding title and meta tags, there is the ability to make each page's title, meta keyword and description unique?

I recommend you backup your websites via ftp once installed to protect yourself against data loss.

Absolutely; every single title, meta keywords, and description will be different.
