How to Drive Traffic to Your Affiliate Sites with Twitter

By EZadmin | Dec 20, 2008

Drive Traffic with TwitterThroughout this article, I am going to discuss how you can drive traffic to your affiliate websites with Twitter. Twitter is a relatively new social site. With that said it is growing like wild fire and this is due in part to its simplicity.

Twitter in essence provides a platform where friends can keep friends up to date on their daily activities. Some people will just comment that they are heading out to a movie. Then when they get back, they may comment on the movie they just went to see.

The beauty with Twitter is that it is simple and concise. Twitter only allows you to use one hundred and forty characters to make a comment, which is called a twit. I must admit when I heard this for the first time I had to laugh because where I come from, a twit is somebody who is not very smart.

Like any other social media, the power lies in the community itself. The more people in your community who follow your twits, the more momentum you will build. Like any other community, in order to be involved you need to get involved.

It’s all about befriending others who in turn may befriend you. The more followers you have the more you will be able to have links in your comments pointing back to your sites or blogs.

With that said it is also important to understand that you need to contribute in a positive manner. You can do this by providing good information that will actually make your comments more desirable to read.

Also, when you start to follow people and they in turn start to follow you, every time you make a twit it will appear on their home page and this is where you can really drive traffic to your affiliate websites with twitter.

So what can you twit about, well in general the more common the topic the greater the possibility that people will know what you are commenting about. You can also comment on what is going on in the media and somehow relate to content on your site or blog.

You can share interesting developments and news relative to your sites theme. All in all, as mentioned, make the comments brief, relevant, and provocative. On a funny note, you could twit about twitter itself. Since people are using twitter, you will find that they are obviously interested in that topic.

Remember your key objective is to make lots of friends. That is what community is all about, then you need to contribute positively to that community in a way that makes sense. Once you do this, you will then be in a position to drive traffic to your affiliate websites with twitter.

To conclude twitter is all about simplicity so keep it simple ;)
