Once you have built your new affiliate website you need to focus on some key fundamentals. In other words, you need to get your foundation right. You need to make sure that your web pages are search engine optimized.
This basically means, number one, your site can be found by the search engines and number two, that it can get indexed.
To add to that, in essence the search engines need to understand what your site is about. The way to do this is to put your desired keywords in the right places, such as the title, description, and keywords tags. Furthermore, the keywords need to be spread throughout your web pages.
In search engine optimization terms, this means your on-page factors. The next thing you need to do is work on the off-page factors. What this means is having links pointing back to your site with your desired keywords relevant to the keywords on those pages.
Relevancy in every facet of your website is key to your success. Relevancy will help, both with the search engines and your human visitors. So how can you start getting links back to your site?
Press Release
As soon as your site is live, write a press release and submit it to PRweb. They will then in turn distribute your press release to all the various networks online. In this press release, you will have a link back to your site with your chosen keyword(s).
Article Marketing
Your next objective is to write about your area of expertise and then submit these articles with links back to your site to various article directories, the most popular of which is Ezine articles.
Directories
The next thing you will do is submit your website to various website directories. This once again will provide links back to your site.

You can also contribute to blogs like the EZ Affiliate Blog 
by making posts with a link back to your site. You can also comment on blogs with a link back to your site.
Forums
Now that you have chosen a niche market, search online for forums relative to that topic. On forums, you will find many people asking questions. Help these folks by providing good answers, and then in your signature box have a link back to your site.
Submit a Sitemap
Once your website is put together, create an xml sitemap. Once you have done this, take the xml feed and submit it to Google. On your website, create a robots.txt file so that when the spiders come visit, they can crawl your site properly.
PPC - Pay Per Click
Once you have established some traffic and begin to see what keywords people are using to find your site, then start a PPC campaign taking those keywords and broadening them. Create small ad groups with specific keywords and make sure that relevancy plays right through, from your ad to your landing page. Once done monitor results and build on your successes.
